北陸新幹線の延伸に伴い、北陸本線の石川県内区間（大聖寺～倶利伽羅間）を転換して開業した。
この配線略図は2024年3月の北陸本線敦賀～金沢間の経営移管前に調査・作成したものです。
金沢総合車両所運用検修センターは2024年3月に金沢車両区に改組されました。
金沢総合車両所は2024年3月に廃止され、松任駅では金沢総合車両所への引込線が撤去されました。
