室蘭本線
室蘭本線のうち、長万部~沼ノ端間は札幌と函館を結ぶ鉄道の一部として特急列車が数多く運転されている。沼ノ端~岩見沢間は過去には石炭輸送でにぎわった区間で一部複線化されているが、現在は一日数本の普通列車や貨物列車が運転されているのみである。
